A: Superfeet Black is the lightest structured insole on the market, adding only about 1 oz. per insole to a lightweight running shoe. Black's thin profile efficiently bridges the space between the foot and low-volume shoe to allow both to perform at a higher level. It provides effective support without adding extra bulk to lightweight footwear.
Our Black insoles will fit in Gore-Tex lined boots and shoes, but we don't recommend this combination. The skegs on teh bottom of the stabilizer cap will indent the inner liner and may rub through the waterproof barrier, compromising its integrity. Although this is typically just an aesthetic problem it may cause the footwear to leak if submerged. If you feel that the Black insole is still the best option, a thin protective lining or volume reducer may be placed between the insole and the inner liner of the boot or shoe. Our Orange, Berry or Green insoles are very waterproof liner friendly. When wearing any of our insoles in footwear with a waterproof liner, it is important to inspect the boots or shoes regularly. Make sure the contact point between the insole and shoe is free of gravel, rocks or sand to avoid any premature wear.
The differences between the Black, the Blue, and the Green are based on the style of shoe that you put the product into. The Black is for dress shoes that have low volume and fit tightly. The Blue is great in cleated athletic footwear or casual shoes, and the Green is for any shoe that has a full-length removable insole and has room for the product and the foot.
The Black insole can fit into some ice-skates. One problem may be that the insole is too wide to fit down into the skate. The Superfeet Black insole was not designed for use in ice skates - we suggest using the Superfeet Yellow insole which was specifically designed for application in hockey and figure skates.
Superfeet Premium Black Insoles are ideal for dress style golf shoes because of the design taper in the arch of the plastic cap on the bottom of the insole. The design of the black plastic cap takes up a little less room in a golf shoe than the Superfeet Blue and Green. If you wear an athletic style golf shoe that has a removeable full-length factory insole, you may use the Green, Blue, or the Black.
