Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get Custom Kork insoles made?
Depending on the foot and the boot model, on average about an hour.
What is the difference between the Kork and the Kork-Vac?
Superfeet Kork is a little thicker in volume and will take up more room in the boot. The Kork full-length top sheet is molded from a 3/16" thick sheet of Kork. This makes the product a little denser and offers a little more support. The Kork-Vac full-length top sheet is molded from 3/16" foam. Because we've chosen to use foam full-length it takes up less room in the boot and offers a softer ride.
Why does it cost so much?

Custom orthotics made by doctors can cost anywhere from $400 to $500, while Superfeet custom insoles may start around $60 and go up to around $200 depending on the model. The custom Kork is specifically designed for skiing and snowboarding and takes about one hour to make. The Kork product in a ski boot and snowboard boot can last from 5 to 7 years. Taking into consideration the time to make it and the longevity of the product, the Custom Kork is reasonably priced.

Generally it is a good idea to replace the Kork every 5 years because the equipment and the foot may have changed due to weight gain or weight loss, fatigue, stress, or injury.

Why is Custom Kork better than the Superfit Winter?
Custom Kork is a two component product, therefore it offers an increased level of customization and supportive shape to the foot. The Superfit Winter custom insole is a one component product. It does not offer the same level of customization, however, the Superfit Winter product may provide all the support your foot needs.
