Q: What makes the hotPINK insole women-specific? How does it differ from REDhot?
A: We didn't just change the color of the REDhot to make a women's model, we engineered it to fit the biomechanical differences of a woman's foot. hotPINK features a shorter heel-to-ball length that corresponds more closely to the arch length of women's feet for a specific fit. The narrower heel cup improves control, shock absorption and cradling comfort, and the hotPINK stabilizer cap is adapted to fit the shape and size of women's footwear so the insole rests easily in the heel.
Q: Can I put REDhot or hotPINK in my running shoes?
A: Because of the Thermofoil layer, it is not recommended that you put our 'hot' products in your running shoes. The repetitive movement from running may wear the foil layer away prematurely, diminishing its reflective properties.
Q: Do REDhot and hotPINK really keep your feet warm? How so?
A: Outlast® is a temperature regulator. The material balances the temperature of your feet by storing excess heat and releasing it when you need it most.
Q: What is Outlast® made out of? Does it contain latex?
A:
Outlast is a proprietary fabric that can be incorporated into many different products used in everyday life. Outlast technology continuously interacts with the unique microclimate of the human body to moderate temperature. You can find out more at www.outlast.com.
No, none of the materials to make our products contain latex.
Q: How do REDhot and hotPINK compare with Orange and Berry?
A: Our winter products have the same biomechanical features as our Orange and Berry, but have added technological benefits to keep your feet comfy in cooler temperatures. The top cover contains Outlast® Adaptive Comfort® which regulates the temperature around your foot. It absorbs excess heat and releases it when the temperature cools. The Thermofoil layer in the forefoot acts as a reflective barrier that helps deflect cold air while the mesh layer directly above it creates a neutral air space, trapping warmth in the forefoot and increasing air flow when pressure is added.
Q: How do I clean my REDhot and hotPINK? Is it different than cleaning my Green or Blue?
A: Clean your REDhot or hotPINK products with a mild soap or detergent using your fingers to rub out dirt. Pat the insoles dry with a clean towel to remove excess moisture. Let them air dry away from a heat source.
Q: Will REDhot or hotPINK make my feet sweaty? What can I do about it if they do?
A: Because these products contain Outlast® Adaptive Comfort®, which helps regulate your in-shoe temperature, they shoudln't cause your feet to get sweaty. if your feet do sweat with these insoles, you may need to examine the whole equation of sock, insole and footwear. If you enjoy the support of your REDhot or hotPINK insoles, try changing sock materials. Or you may want to try a different insole, such as our Orange or Berry.
Q: Will REDhot or hotPINK work in my skates?
A: Because of the ramped angle of a skate, we don't recommend you use our products that were designed to lay flat in a shoe. We have designed our YELLOW insole for footwear that has a raised heel compared to the forefoot and recommend you use this insole in skates. Superfeet YELLOW also has a much thinner profile than any of our other insoles so it works best in a tight-fitting skate.
