Toe Pain

Since there are many things that can create toe pain, it is very important to have any pain properly diagnosed by a qualified medical doctor.

Toe pain can be associated with improper bone alignment within the bones of the feet.

It can be associated with situations referred to as ìgout,î where the toes become swollen, painful and tight. Often times you need to see an urologist to have the gout properly treated because it has to do with the break down of chemicals in the body and the bladder.

Toe pain can be caused by toenail infections, ingrown toenails, shoes that are too short, shoes that crowd the toes, shoes that flex improperly and donít offer the foot proper support or socks that arenít fitted properly or are the wrong size. There are many things that can create toe pain within the foot, for instance, arthritis, joint inflammation, stress fractures and raynoids disease.

The footbed will help to support the foot and stabilize it. In many cases the footbed can make the foot shorter in length, therefore it doesnít elongate as much. By doing this, it will give you more toe room inside of the shoe. If it is the shoe that is creating the toe pain, the footbed can certainly help that.

However, the footbed isnít going to help situations that are electrical, like nerve problems and problems such as disease (diabetes and gout). These situations need to be treated by medications and a qualified medical doctor, although, a good footbed and a proper fitting shoe will certainly add to the health and function of the foot.
