Battling Bacteria: Superfeet Employs AgIONĀ® Antimicrobial Technology in its Line of Trim-to-Fit Insoles

New Treatment on Insoles Helps Suppress Bacteria and Foot Odor

Superfeet Worldwide, Inc. will begin using AgION® Antimicrobial Protection on all of its Trim-to-Fit premium insoles in 2007.  AgION Technologies, Inc. is highly respected as one of the world's leading antimicrobial engineering companies, sustaining partnerships with many leading brands such as DuPont, Motorola, Adidas and Honeywell.  AgION® Antimicrobial is an environmentally-friendly, silver-based solution used in diverse markets that has been incorporated into numerous products including textiles, shoes, cell phones and keyboards.

Meeting a Need

Acknowledging the appropriate timing of this new technology to meet consumers' growing demand for solutions to bacteria and foot odor, Superfeet Research and Development Project Manager Ward Collins believes the introduction of such a product will meet the insole industry's specific need for advanced bacterial protection and odor control.  "Foot odor can be a big problem that the insole and footwear industries need to address.  Introducing AgION® Antimicrobial into our largest product line will actively meet the need for odor-causing bacteria solutions.  The combination of Superfeet premium insoles and an earth-friendly antimicrobial creates a valuable product that will cut down on the growth of harmful bacteria while providing excellent support and comfort."

AgION® antimicrobial top cover treatments were introduced with Superfeet's new Orange and Berry insoles in January 2007, and as of Spring 2007 will be featured on all Superfeet Trim-to-Fit products.  The company also plans to include AgION® on their Custom products in the immediate future.
