Superfeet Releases Revamped Insole for Hockey Market

Yellow is the New Grey

The new Yellow Premium Insole will replace the Grey model first developed in the mid-80s to fit the Bauer Supreme 100 hockey skate. Superfeet Grey has been extremely popular among professional, junior, university and college hockey players for over twenty years.

In an effort to enhance the already successful Grey product, expand the brand's presence in the Canadian and U.S. hockey markets, and appeal to a new generation of players, Superfeet is revamping the hockey insole to accommodate features of newer skates. Acknowledging the impact of the old and new models, Superfeet Marketing Manager Mike Squarek says, "Grey was the first over-the-counter insole designed to fit the exact heel-to-toe profile of hockey skates. We know the biomechanics work. Now we've used the same biomechanical knowledge to create an even more comfortable and functional model with features to meet recent market demands."

The new Yellow model features a wider forefoot to fit new skate designs, and two new sizes to fit the smallest and largest feet: size A (Kids' 13.5-2) and size G (Men's 13.5-15). To accommodate hockey skate boots and road cycling shoes with perforated outsoles, Superfeet has added its new Diamond Venting System™ to drain moisture from the forefoot area. Like the rest of Superfeet's Trim-to-Fit® line, the Yellow also includes an antimicrobial-treated top cover by Agion® to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria. The new model will stand out at retail thanks to its brighter new color and packaging design.

Randy Curran, VP Marketing and Managing Partner at Superfeet, helped design the original Superfeet hockey insole in conjunction with Bauer while serving as Bauer Product Manager. "After working successfully with this product in skates, we knew it had other possibilities in footwear outside the hockey business," he says. The Yellow's unique 'ramp' also functions extremely well in certain models of road cycling shoes and track spikes with a 1.5" max heel height. Curran adds, "Superior fit provides maximum comfort. Regardless of your ability as an athlete, the results are improved performance."

Superfeet's Yellow Premium Insole is now available at Superfeet dealers across the U.S. and Canada. To find a Superfeet dealer near you, visit www.superfeet.com.
