Superfeet Announces 2010 Sponsored Athletes on Facebook
Revamped Sponsorship Program Benefits Insole Users and Company
FERNDALE, WA - MARCH 29, 2010 - Superfeet Worldwide Inc. announced the 20 winners of their newly revamped 2010 Sponsorship Program earlier this month on Facebook. The 2010 program differs from past years by the company's use of Facebook and other social media to create a contest for Superfeet users to win sponsorship for a year.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive response from Superfeet users, Susie Rickerts, Superfeet's Marketing Associate in charge of the sponsorship program, says, "In 2010 our sponsored athletes will get greater recognition, and our brand will be more prominently displayed within their athletic communities. We're excited about the possibilities these partnerships are already creating."
In previous years, Superfeet accepted requests for product sponsorship all year long, and sponsored athletes received a few pairs of insoles to use for their activities. This year's sponsorship package has expanded to include five pairs of Superfeet Premium Insoles and a large selection of logoed gear for each of the 20 selected athletes.
Out of over 40 submissions, sponsorships were granted to a wide range of athletes, from casual hikers to pro cyclists and weightlifters. Many of the winning athletes are planning events to support cancer research or to bring awareness to Iraq war victims, whereas others are focused on their goals of hiking the full Appalachian or Pacific Crest Trails or competing in the World Cup.
One of the main requirements of the sponsored athletes will be to communicate about their adventures, races, and travels throughout the year via Facebook posts, Tweets, blog entries or other social media sites.
The following athletes have Superfeet sponsorship in 2010:
