Superfeet Honored in Outside Magazine's Best Places to Work 2008

Insole Company Named Number Two in Category

Superfeet was awarded second place in the medium-sized company category (50-249 employees). The program was created by Outside magazine in partnership with the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group.

Outside's first time survey focused on selecting and awarding the top 30 U.S. companies that make it possible for employees to balance productivity with an active, eco-conscious lifestyle. After an initial selection process, the companies were sent a confidential employee-satisfaction survey and employer-questionnaire to collect information about benefits, policies and practices. All of the results were analyzed by Best Companies Group's experts, who selected the top 30 and split them into three categories: small (15-49 employees); medium (50-249) and large (250+).

"We are very proud to be named one of the best places to work in the United States by Outside magazine," says Lynette Ziegler, VP of Operations and 20-year veteran at Superfeet Worldwide. "Superfeet is the most exciting and progressive company to work for in my own career, and I am especially pleased that our employees' surveys reflect the same point of view. This is not just a business, it is a family."

In 2005 the owners of Superfeet instated an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) in hopes of preserving their company culture. The unanimously supported program is now in its third year, and by 2011, the employees of Superfeet will be co-owners of 30% of the company. Superfeet allows new moms and students to job-share, allowing for full-time benefits, and pays 100 percent of employees' medical, dental, vision, and disability premiums. In addition, Superfeet has a history of providing financial support to employees enduring health related or family crises. The company's mission and business practices are based on a set of employee-written Core Values, focusing on ethics, responsibility and sustainability.

Outside magazine conducted extensive surveys - based on benefits, compensation, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives and community outreach programs - designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the country. "These 30 companies figured out that there is a way to have it all and understand the growing need for work / quality of life balance," said Chris Keyes, Editor of Outside. "...these organizations have found a way to bring company morale to a whole new level while at the same time being responsible to their local communities and the environment. It's a trend that we only see increasing in the years ahead."

The complete rankings will be published in the May 2008 issue of Outside magazine.
