I was plagued with plantar fasciitis for almost a year. First the stone in your shoe pain - then the I can't get out of bed without excruciating pain - then the what's wrong with me and tears until ultimate diagnosis. I went to a podiatrist who reluctantly gave me a shot of cortisone because I couldn't stop crying as I described the pain. She made a mold of my foot and a few weeks later I received a $300 custom insoles that consisted of a plastic arch with a flimsy insole basically glued to it.
