5 Recycling Tips from Superfeet employee-owner Ryan

We are always looking for ways to keep our planet happier and healthier, as well as encourage others to do the same. We asked Superfeet employee-owner and Product Development Engineer, Ryan, to share a few simple recycling tips.  Here's what Ryan had to say about ways you can incorporate these practices into your everyday life — all of them leading to a happier, healthier planet, family, home and wallet.

5 Recycling Tips

Recycling Tip #1: Knowledge is Power

Check with your local recycling website and see what you can recycle.

Recycling Tip #2: Old Engine Oil

Recycling used oil keeps it from polluting soil and water. Make sure to check with your local waste collectors and automobile maintenance facilities to where you can drop off your used oil for recycling.

Recycling Tip #3: LED Lightbulbs

LED lightbulbs are not entirely phased in quite yet. Take compact fluorescent lights—the long bulbs you will find in your garage lighting. Did you know? Those compact light bulbs have mercury inside. Hardware stores will take those back – put in a kiosk in a plastic bag and then a bin.

Recycling Tip #4: Upcycle Clothing

Some retailers have programs where you can bring in your old clothing for a discount off your next purchase. They take your used clothing, mill it down and turn it into other things

Recycling Tip #5: Start Composting

Green Waste Bins are great have at your home because all the compost goes to the local gardens or for use in the local jurisdiction.
