Thank you to everyone who has reached out to offer support and express concern about the widespread flooding that has impacted the area around Superfeet headquarters. It is not often this little corner of the Pacific Northwest makes national headlines but we feel very fortunate all our employees are safe.
The flood waters did not reach the doors of Superfeet facilities. That's more than we can say for countless others in the local community — so many have lost their homes, their businesses and all they know.
We are working directly to take care of the Superfeet employees who were impacted in a big way by these devastating floods, but know the need extends well beyond our own Superfeet family.
To aid in community relief efforts Superfeet will be providing a matching contribution of up to $100,000 to the Whatcom Community Foundation (WCF) Resilience Fund. The WCF is working directly with local non-profits in the affected communities to help provide immediate and long-term flood relief to those impacted by this catastrophic event. Philanthropy is the critical first money in during a crisis. It can fill the gaps and be a bridge providing immediate resources for families and individuals until FEMA and other humanitarian aid is set up and able to help community members with recovery.
Many of you have a personal connection to Whatcom County, whether you live in the area or have visited for outdoor recreation, like skiing at Baker or mountain biking at Galbraith. If you'd like to help, you can donate to the Whatcom Community Foundation at the link below and your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by our matching grant.
