Serving Our Community: Support Beyond Orthotics

NYCPM Students on an annual medical mission trip, with support from Superfeet Rx

Every year, Superfeet gives 1% of sales and more than 1,000 volunteer hours to shaping a strong foundation for a healthy future. Additionally, at our annual Giving Fair each Superfeeter gets $1,000 to donate to one cause close to their heart or spread across as many as ten different organizations.

As a complete orthotic partner to medical practitioners, Superfeet Rx heeds the Superfeet mission and seeks to help clinicians serve patients and communities in a variety of ways. This summer, Superfeet Rx donated insoles to two organizations working to make a difference: the International Podiatry Club (IPC) at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes’ program in Quebec.

Accessing Podiatric Healthcare in the Dominican Republic

The IPC is committed to advancing education and knowledge in the field of podiatry across various countries.  Superfeet Rx donated insoles to assist students on their annual medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The purpose of the trip is to help patients who do not have routine access to healthcare, especially podiatric healthcare. With this goal, the students provide education regarding foot care and crucial supplies to patients that will continue to benefit them long after the mission trip is over.

Superfeet Rx came to support this trip through our commitment to empowering healthcare professionals and students who are passionate about giving back to communities in need. The goals of IPC’s mission trip align with our own: to contribute to an initiative that not only provides medical care but also fosters long-term health and well-being.

“Our mission trip represents an incredible opportunity to make a difference in underserved communities, offering not just medical care but also hope and compassion. It’s a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who need it most. The support from Superfeet Rx means the world to me, as it not only enables this journey but also reinforces the importance of community and collaboration in making positive change possible."

– Aaliyah, 4th year student

“Participating in a mission trip is deeply meaningful to me because it aligns with my commitment to global health and community service. Having support from Superfeet Rx is incredibly valuable as it not only helps to alleviate the financial burden but also reinforces the importance of collaboration in achieving health equity. Their support allows me to focus on delivering care and making a difference where it's needed most.”

Equipping Athletes for Success in Quebec

The Special Olympics Healthy Athlete program is a worldwide initiative designed around events through which Special Olympic volunteers and partners provide health screenings and address health conditions for people with intellectual disabilities. Inspired by his employee whose daughter was a Special Olympic skier and a runner, Podiatrist Dr. Glenn Hébert has been the Quebec Clinical Director for the Special Olympic Healthy Feet program for 20 years and has participated in the screening of thousands of athletes.

Once the foot screening is complete, the athlete receives a report card discussing any pathology they may have. This can be brought home and shown to their caregiver to get the proper care they may need. All athletes receive a gift bag as well with educational materials for foot hygiene and free samples of foot-related products such as socks and shoes deodorants. Once he began using Superfeet Rx in his practice, he knew that Superfeet OTC insoles would be a great gift for the athletes in the program.

“Using my knowledge and 30+ years of podiatric experience with the Special Olympic community has been a blessing. Empowering these athletes to compete, have fun, and stay healthy has been life-changing.  The athlete and their families’ appreciation is palpable at every event. Having Superfeet Rx as partner ensures that the foot health of Special Olympic athletes will remain a priority for years to come.”
