Superfeet and Our Hearts to Your Soles
When you work for a company that makes products that literally helps people get back on their feet, you get to hear thank you a lot.
And it never gets old.
But here's the thing...
All of us at Superfeet are even more thankful for something else: the opportunity to work for, and be employee-owners of a company that puts people first. And while that people-first mentality certainly applies to the products we make, it extends far beyond that, from taking care of each other and helping people in our own community shape strong foundations for a healthy future.
We were grateful again this year for the opportunity to participate in the annual Our Hearts to Your Soles event in Bellingham, Wash., fitting footwear and providing much needed medical attention to homeless men, women and children in the Whatcom County area. One of 26 events held in late November and early December nationwide, attendees of the Bellingham event receive essential foot health care, including a foot evaluation from a medical professional, a pedicure, a new pair of socks, a new pair of winter boots, Superfeet insoles, handwarmers, hygeniene kits, plus an optional flu shot.
This year, approximately 400 men, women and children attended the Bellingham event, held Tuesday, November 21.
This event wouldn't be possible without an army of volunteers, and generous product donations from companies like Red Wing, Bogs, Nesters Hosiery, Farm to Feet and Heat Factory. Together we got to work alongside volunteers from PeaceHealth Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, PeaceHealth Pediatrics and the Lighthouse Mission to provide members of our community the basic supplies to help get them through the cold and rainy season here in the Pacific Northwest.
We're thankful we get to be so much more than a company. Together we're a community. And never does that feeling of gratefulness and community become more apparent than when we're working together as a team to help those who need it most.
From our Superfeet community to our friends, family and customers near and far: Happy Thanksgiving.
