Adventure with SF Amy Header

We spend our days making products that help people run, jump, hike, ski, dance, climb, work, play and live life to its fullest. But when we aren't at the office, we're out in the world adventuring with Superfeet products, just like you. In this series, meet some of our employee-owners, read their stories and follow along as they #adventurewithsf in the Superfeet Sprinter Van.

Life's an adventure. What's been your greatest adventure so far?

My greatest adventure, so far, was filming a documentary in four countries over two months. We interviewed families in their homes and got to see parts of cities like Paris and Berlin that you would never see on vacation. The families also showed us historical and popular places with a local insight that you don't find in a guide book. We visited Peggy's Cove with a family in Nova Scotia. We viewed the Eiffel Tower with two, young French brothers. We also had a traditional Brazilian barbecue in the home of a wonderful family in Tapejara, Brazil, and saw the personal art collection of an eccentric German, artist/cafe owner whose barista made the best coffee I have ever tasted. It was an exhausting and exhilarating couple of months!

About Ellen's Adventure

Who did you adventure with?

I adventured with my wife and our three sons, Kyler- 20, Nate- 17 and Aiden- 14.

Where did you adventure to in the Superfeet Sprinter Van?

We adventured to the Methow Valley in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. The Methow Valley is primarily made up of three towns: Mazama, Winthrop and Twisp. We technically stayed in Twisp, but when adventuring over there we often end up spending time in all three towns.

We played in the sun, shopped at the farmer's market, visited an artist collective, ate, read our books and played competitive card games.

The weather is always more extreme in the Methow than in Bellingham. If it is cold in Bellingham, it's probably snowing in Mazama! This adventure treated us with amazingly warm May weather. We came home sun kissed and with our calendars out to plan the next trip into the mountains.

What was the best part of your adventure?

The best part was having all of our kids together. My oldest is in college and family vacations are coming to and end. This adventure was a great way to kick off the summer and to make one more family vacation memory for the five of us.

Tell us something else fun/exhilirating/different/thrilling about your adventure:

One of my favorite memories from the trip was the night we stayed up really late playing a certain questionable card game that causes uproarious laughter. We stayed at a camp ground with super strict quiet hours and our attempts to stay quiet and not disturb the folks in the RVs was almost as funny as the card game itself.
