The bold idea for Superfeet was sparked by listening to athletes searching for a competitive edge. Founded in 1977 by Dennis Brown and Dr. Chris Smith as part of the Sports Medicine Division of Northwest Podiatric Laboratory, the vision for this new venture was simple: to help athletes perform at their best.
It began with ski boot expanders for pro skiers. Then came custom cork insoles made on-site, transforming the way snow athletes carve and shred down the slopes. Soon, Superfeet were in hockey skates, work boots and, of course, running shoes.
Over the next four decades, that simple but insightful idea from the lab grew into a global foot support phenomenon.
Powerful New Strides
Today, Superfeet insoles are worn by the world’s top athletes, who trust the signature shape that mirrors the foot in motion to deliver power and performance where it counts. The anatomically engineered shape is backed up by industry leading materials like carbon fiber and supercritical ATPU foam, creating the ultimate supportive foundation.
We’re proud of our legacy driving people across finish lines, up mountains, and down city streets. But we’re never satisfied with good enough. It’s time to be bold. To go all in. To bring our experience and expertise in sports performance to the forefront.
We are excited to reflect the confidence and boldness that athletes feel wearing Superfeet in the look and feel of the brand itself, along with a nod to our obsession to constant research and innovation.
Though Superfeet has expanded well beyond helping skiers get the right boot fit, our dedication to being the unseen advantage for athletes and engineering solutions for anyone who relies on their feet has only grown.
Here’s to making moves and building movements.
