International Women’s Day has been inspiring change, motivating action, and bringing people together to create a more inclusive world for over a century. The first International Women’s Day was celebrated in March of 1911! This year, Superfeet is joining the many organizations and individuals spreading the word to #inspireinclusion today and every day.
Superfeet lives and breathes the principles of inclusiveness in the ways we support our team members and our communities. From new hires just starting their careers to senior and executive leaders guiding us into the future, the women of Superfeet have an incredible impact on every aspect of our business. They also play an important role in our giving strategies and volunteer events.
Women of Superfeet – Here’s to You!
The women of Superfeet utilize their incredible artistic talents to bring the brand to life, they assemble our products with care, they keep track of the financials with precision, they make up entire departments (shout out to Project Management!) and so much more. Today, we solute their many important contributions to Superfeet while keeping the spirit of inclusion and belonging alive no matter the month. Superfeet is a proud sponsor of Take the Lead, a retreat centered around the experiences of women and femme of color to lead the change they want to see in the running industry. Our very own VP of Marketing, Linda Balfour, and Social Media Specialist, Heather Saldivar, attended the retreat last year and had a blast. It’s just one of the many ways we’re striving to create a more inclusive future for everyone. To all the amazing women of Superfeet who add so much to our team, thank you.
Supporting Women in Our Community
Supporting people is at the heart of everything we do at Superfeet, and that support extends beyond insoles. Every year, we give 1% of sales to organizations helping to create a better world, and women play a crucial role helping to decide the best, most impactful ways to spend those funds.
One initiative we’re particularly proud of is our local grants program. Superfeet awards grants up to $10,000 to organizations helping our own community of Whatcom County, Washington thrive. Our most recent round of grants included organizations helping women in our community. One grant to the YWCA of Bellingham will help further their mission finding permanent housing for women experiencing homelessness. Another grant to the organization Shifting Gears supports efforts to break down barriers keeping women from experiencing the outdoors.
